Whitland v Tenby

Molson CoorsWhitland v Tenby
13th June 2015

If the form of both sides coming into this game was anything to go by, then the Tenby team were odds on favourites to defeat a Whitland side struggling at the foot of the league table.  However, Tenby were a few players short and had a late withdrawal due to a sickness bug by Paul Diment.  However, take nothing away from a spirited Whitland team who always have at least one big game in them.  The problem for the borderer’s team is that they are not able to string together any consistency since winning their only league title some 9 years ago.   A 12-2 win for Whitland thanks in the main to Glyndwr Thomas beating the Keiran Peregrine rink by 26-15.  Muskett went down by a few to L Price (14-17) and Ryan Thomas was on the wrong side of a 19-21 loss to Steve Reese.  However, Steve when game down had a very large slice of good fortune when his wayward shot took a big deflection to win the ‘rink’.    Success for Craig Guymer against Dan Jenner (18-14).  My sincere congratulations to Whitland on a well deserved win.  The one piece of solace that the Tenby Sharks can take from this is that if you had to lose to Whitland, then make sure it was this game and not the Carruthers Shield qualifier a few weeks earlier.
